Geeveston is a small town located in southern Tasmania, approximately 62 kilometres south west of Hobart. Situated in the picturesque Huon Valley, Geeveston is surrounded by rolling hills, lush green valleys and apple orchids. The town has a history of forestry and apple growing, however, tourism is now a major focus for the township.
The Geeveston Ex Servicemen & Women’s Club is found approximately one kilometre south of the town centre, on Memorial Drive. With parking available for up to 96 hours, the club makes an ideal camping base while exploring the local area. Fees are set at a low $10 per vehicle per night, with a stay three nights get the fourth for free option. Toilets, bins and water are available and pets are permitted on leads. The club welcomes donations from guests staying and using the facilities.
The town itself has many creative shops and eateries, and the main street features hand-carved timber sculptures of famous locals. Just outside of Geeveston is the popular Tahune Airwalk, with its treetop walkways and views across the Picton and Huon Rivers.
