Georgetown is 196km north of the state capital Adelaide, and 60km north of the famous wine-making region of Clare Valley. Georgetown’s wide main street provides easy maneuvering, and ample parking space makes it an ideal location to replenish your supplies and explore the surrounding areas.

There is parking available for self-contained vehicles in the centre of Georgetown, next to the Memorial Playground on Fisher Street. Parking is limited to 24 hours and there is room for 8-10 vehicles. There is covered seating provided, as well as bins, toilets and barbecue facilities. Please note that pets are not allowed on the grounds.

While in town there is plenty to see with several walking trails, cycle paths and self-guided tours on offer. The Heysen and Mawson walking trails meander their way down from the surrounding ranges and the renovated Hiskeys Hut is just 3km from town and offers basic amenities for those looking to stay close to nature.
