Carpenter Rocks Recreation Reserve is located in the small coastal town of Carpenter Rocks, 35 kilometres south-west of Mount Gambier. The rocks of the coast were named ‘Les Carpentiers’ or ‘The Carpenters’ by a Dutch navigator, as the indented and serrated nature of the coastline reminded him of a carpenters saw.
