Kondinin is located 278 kilometres south-east of Perth in the heart of grain and sheep farming country. The shire includes three main towns, Kondinin, Hyden and Karlgarin. Hyden is 60 kilometres east of Kondinin, and Karlgarin is 45 kilometres east of Kondinin.
Casual parking is available in Jones Street for vehicles up to 11m and short-term parking is available across the road at the Town Hall for up to 24 hours. A dump point and potable water can be found at Kondinin Caravan Park, situated in Gordon Street.
Kondinin is spectacularly scenic, and a great place to visit. When Kondinin Lake is full, it is a popular destination for windsurfing and skiing, as well as a true delight for bird watching and nature lovers. The Yeerakine Rock (approximately eight kilometres from Kondinin) incorporates an old water catchment and panoramic outlook where you can see a 360 degree view of the changing farming seasons below. A walking trail is also available here, and along the path you will be able to see ‘Eucalyptus Kondinenses’.
