Gayndah is a town located on the Burnett River in Queensland, with the Burnett Highway passing through the area. It is 366 kilometres north of Brisbane, and 145 kilometres west of Maryborough. Gayndah lies at the heart of Queensland's citrus area and proudly claims to be the ‘Orange Capital of Queensland'. Many fine historic buildings line the main street, representing Edwardian, Federation and Art Deco styles. A unique collection of early designed railway bridges offer the railway enthusiast an insight into early bridge structure and engineering.
Zonhoven Park, located on the Burnett Highway, is the ideal destination to explore the town. Self-contained travellers are welcome to stay here for 24 hours at no-cost, with access to a dump point and potable water also available on-site.
The area's undulating countryside offers several lookouts including Archer's Lookout, Binjour Lookout and Mt Gayndah - with views over the citrus orchards, Burnett River Valley and rural countryside.
