Moora - WA RVFT

Moora is located in the Wheatbelt Region of Western Australia, and 177 kilometres north of Perth, on the banks of the Moore River. The town was settled in 1895 and was one of the original stations on the Midland railway line to Walkaway. Today, the shire is renowned as one of the state’s most reliable farming districts and to date has never been declared a drought zone. Moora is also one of the largest inland service centres between Perth and Geraldton.

Casual parking is available in Padbury Street, opposite the bakery and hotel. Those wishing to stay in town a little longer can find short-term parking at the overnight Rest Area, located at 26 Padbury Street. There is no fee to stay here, and parking is limited to three nights. A dump point is also located on-site. Potable water can be obtained from the overnight Rest Area in Roberts Street.

Moora is the perfect base to explore the Wheatbelt region and marks the start of the stunning Western Australian wildflower trail, which can be experienced via several self-drive tours as well as scenic walking trails. The Moora Agricultural Show is held in September and includes a full equestrian program, fireworks and a fashion parade. Also, a big event is the Moora Cup Race Day held in October. Just outside town the historic Berkshire Valley is also a popular tourist destination.
