Temora is located in the Riverina and South West Slopes region of New South Wales, 423 kilometres south-west of Sydney. In the late 1800s the town was a bustling gold rush community with more than 15,000 prospectors working the fields. Nowadays, Temora has a thriving agricultural industry focused mainly on wheat and wool farming. Visitors to the town will notice the beautifully maintained streetscapes and numerous parks and gardens.
Parking is permitted for up to 48 hours at the Railway Station on Parkes Street, where toilets, bins and water are provided. There’s no charge to stay, and pets on a lead are permitted. An additional supply of potable water, along with a dump point, is located on Airport Street.
The world class Aviation Museum is a must-see when passing through Temora, along with the Temora Rural Museum which displays a variety of working examples of rural technology dating back to the town’s settlement.
