Lyndhurst is a small historical village, located 269 kilometres west of Sydney in New South Wales. In the late 1880s the town was a major service centre to the nearby Junction Reef goldfields and mining community, and in 1908 was one of 10 towns shortlisted as the site for the Australian Capital Territory and National Capital.
Lyndhurst welcomes RV travellers to stay up to 5 days at the Recreation Ground on Harrow Street. A dump point and potable water are available at the grounds, along with bins and toilets. There is no set fee to stay, however donations are requested.
Today the main hub of Lyndhurst consists of the café, hotel and service station. The Lyndhurst Rifle Club, founded in 1913, still exists and continues to host teams from around the world. Other recreational activities in Lyndhurst include golfing at the Lyndhurst Golf Club, tennis at the new recreation ground and fishing at the nearby Wyangala Dam.
