Wycheproof is located 276 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, and is a vibrant community at the gateway to the Murray Mallee Sunset Country. The town lays claim to having the world’s smallest registered mountain, Mt Wycheproof, which rises only 43 metres above the surrounding plains. With cafes, pubs, art galleries, plus all the necessary shopping facilities, Wycheproof makes a convenient stopover to restock supplies, and take a break from your journey.

Short and long-term parking is available at Wycheproof Caravan Park at the northern end of town. Toilets, water and a dump point are available at a low fee of $20 per vehicle per night for an unpowered site. Pets on leads are also welcome.

Several festivals and events are held throughout the year in Wycheproof, including the Great Grain Festival in February, and the Mt Wycheproof Cup, known as ‘Derby Day in the Country’, held in November each year.
