Swan Reach is located on the Murray River approximately 127 kilometres north-east of Adelaide and makes for an ideal stopover between the Riverland and Barossa regions. Swan Reach gained its name from the large number of black swans that once thrived in the area. Nestled among farmlands, with a pristine waterfront location, Swan Reach is a popular holiday spot as well as a successful horticultural and farming community.
Visitors to Swan Reach can find casual parking at Len White Reserve and short-term parking can be found at Tenbury Hunter Reserve, Stott Hwy. There a nil charge to stay at Tenbury Hunter Reserve, however a 5 night maximum stay applies. Toilets, bins and a dump point are located on-site and pets on a lead are permitted. Potable water can be obtained at Len White Reserve.
There is something for everyone whilst visiting Swan Reach. High cliffs shelter the river, providing excellent conditions for all types of water sports. The tallest cliffs along the Murray can be found at the ‘Big Bend’, offering spectacular scenery. The Swan Reach Hotel (circa 1865) is a lovely spot to enjoy views of the river and wildlife while enjoying a meal and learn about the history of the hotel through their photograph collection.
