Dowerin - WA RVFT
Dowerin is located 156 kilometres north-east of Perth on the Pioneers Pathway a popular tourist route in the central wheat belt region of Western Australia. In 1906 the government extended the railway from Goomalling to the developing Dowerin Agricultural Area and decided to develop a town at the bustling terminal and as a result Dowerin was officially gazetted in 1907.
Those visiting Dowerin can find short term parking at the Field Day Site located on Memorial Ave. There are no fees to stay here and parking is strictly limited to self-contained vehicles only for up to 48 hours. A dump point can be found at Minnivale Campground situated in Stewart Street and potable water can be obtained a long Redding Rd.
Whilst in Dowerin you will come across many interesting sites to visit such as Rusty the Tin Dog found at the west entrance to Dowerin the threatened species garden found in the main street or the Sundial positioned centrally within the town square. If visiting in August be sure to check out theThe Dowerin GWN Field Days renowned as one of the biggest rural events in Western Australia. The Field Day showcases agricultural and associated equipment as well as provides information and services to people from rural areas.
