Coolgardie - WA RVFT
Coolgardie is known as Mother of the Goldfields and was the birthplace of the 1892 gold rush. The small town is situated 558 kilometres east of Perth and a leisurely drive from Kalgoorlie. Coolgardie was once the third largest town in Western Australia and today many charming heritage buildings remain evidence of former glory days of the gold mining era.
Coolgardie offers 24 hour parking for RVs free of charge at the Railway Station on Woodward Street. Bins and potable water are available and a dump point is located nearby the railway station. Potable water is also available at the Mercy Gregory Memorial Park.
While in town visitors can learn about the gold rush history at the Goldfields Exhibition Museum and Ben Priors Park. Also worth visiting is the Varischetti Mine Rescue Display outlining the amazing story of workers who were trapped for nine days in an underwater mine and the Pharmaceutical Museum with its interesting collection of 18th and 19th century medicines and memorabilia.
