Rosebery is a quaint town located 25 km north-east of Zeehan, on the northern end of the West Coast Range of Tasmania.  The town nestles in a temperate rain-forested valley between three mountains, Mt Murchison to the east, Mt Black to the north and Mt Read to the south. Rosebery is the perfect base for excursions to the beautiful natural wonders of the north-west, such as Cradle Mountain, the Franklin-Gordon River and the magnificent rainforests of the Hellyer Gorge. 

Stitt Park, located on the Murchison Hwy, (near the river) offers visitors to Rosebery short and long term parking. There is no fee to park here and stays are limited to 72 hours. Potable water can be obtained from the Cnr Morrisby St & Arthur Street, (near public toilets), and a dump point can be found at Park Rd, opposite the caravan park. 

Rosebery is a perfect place to visit and base yourself when exploring the West Coast Range. Fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, rock climbing, golf, mining tours or just plain walking - it's all available, and for photographers, it is a case of ‘can't take a bad picture if you want to’. Budding geologists too will find the area of great interest. In the 1890s, gold, lead, zinc and copper were all discovered in the area. This lasted until the mine's closure in 1913. In 1927, the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company revived the mines, and today the mines are still running (owned and operated by MMG Rosebery). So be prepared to be captivated by the breathtaking scenery of this area and allow plenty of time to discover and explore its natural attractions.
