Burdekin Farmstay is located in North Queensland, 7.5 kilometres from the main highway, and is a great place to stop, relax and encounter some unique sights. The farm is a working sugar cane farm, giving visitors the opportunity to see cane harvesting, hauling and the burning of the cane fields, which people travel from all over the world to witness. Stays of more than one night are required to see the burning of the cane.
Those wishing to stay at Burdekin Farmstay can do so at a cost of $10 per vehicle per night for an unpowered site, and $15 per vehicle per night for a powered site. Vehicles must be self-contained; however, bins, BBQ, and potable water is available. (Additional charges may apply). Pets on a lead are welcome.
Burdekin Farmstay is the perfect spot to relax by the river, under the shade of the mango trees, and witness some truly unique Australian experiences. Travellers can also enjoy some fine fishing, bird watching and photography, with many species native to the area. There is also a bonfire area with a BBQ camp oven pit that can be lit any night, if requested.
