Jamestown - SA RVFT

Jamestown is a picturesque town located in the Mid North region of South Australia, 207km north of Adelaide, and is set in the stunning Southern Flinders Ranges. The town is an innovative, vibrant, rural centre servicing the region and neighbouring towns with retail, commercial, community and sporting facilities. Jamestown has a growing population of 1,407 and can satisfy all travellers’ needs with services such as a hospital, medical centre, pharmacy, library, service station, newsagent, post office, a bakery, two butchers, banks and supermarkets.

Those visiting Jamestown can find short-term parking at Robinson Park. Sites are $10.00 per vehicle per night and stays are limited to 96 hours. A permit to stay is obtainable from the Foodland Supermarket, open 7am- 8pm daily. A dump point can be found at 103 Ayr St (near caravan park), and potable water is located at Robinson Park in Vohr Street.

Attractions include the recently restored Belalie Art Gallery (contact Voumard Lawyers for keys and current events, Ph 08 8664 1043), and Belalie Creek, a calm location ideal for BBQs, picnics or peaceful walks. The Jamestown Railway National Trust Museum has a railway carriage and other memorabilia, a crop stripper, wool table and other farm equipment, a feature exhibition of Bundaleer Forest, taped reminiscences, photographs and archival items. Town murals adorn buildings in and around Ayr Street, creating a visual history of the town’s development.
