Broken Hill - NSW RVFT

Broken Hill is situated in the far west of New South Wales, approximately 50 kilometres from the South Australian border, and sits on the crossroads of the Barrier and Silver City Highways. As one of the longest active mining towns in Australia, Broken Hill was a major contributor to early mining innovation.

RV travellers are encouraged to stop in town with several services and facilities available. Broken Hill Regional Events Centre offers parking for RV travellers looking to stay in the area. CMCA members can access unpowered sites for a low-cost of $15 per vehicle per night, while the general public can access unpowered sites at a rate of $25 per vehicle per night. Powered sites are available to everyone for a rate of $40 per vehicle per night. The event centre offers access to showers, bins, toilets and water. The town’s dump point is located at Kintore Reserve and potable water is available at the visitor information centre.

There are plenty of local attractions to keep visitors busy during a stay in Broken Hill. Explore the local heritage architecture of the town, view the significant art and mineral collections and soak up some of the town’s film history. The awe-inspiring Living Desert Sculptures are deservedly the most iconic attraction in Broken Hill and a must-see for those visitors passing through the region.
