Yarrawonga is the largest township in Victoria’s Moira Shire, located 37.6 kilometres from Cobram and 2.9 kilometres from its twin-city Mulwala, NSW. When the Yarrawonga Weir was opened in 1939 the region quickly became a water sports haven with its wonderful climate and relatively constant water levels year round. Whether you are attracted to the lake, the river or the beach, a visit to the ‘Inland Aquatic Paradise’ of Yarrawonga, will appeal on many levels. 

Those visiting Yarrawonga can find short-term parking at Yarrawonga West Rest Area, situated along the Murray Valley Hwy. There are no fees to stay here and parking is limited to 24 hours. A dump point and potable water can be found at Yarrawonga Showground, entry via Dunlop Street. 

With over 6,000 residents, Yarrawonga enjoys all the features of a dynamic regional centre while being surrounded by vast rural lands. Wineries, art and craft galleries, parks and gardens, monthly farmers markets and local retail facilities offer many chances to take the hustle and bustle out of your holiday program. Yarrawonga also has several nightspots to cater for different tastes and ages, including pubs, restaurants and bars. Many of the businesses on the Farm Gate Trail are located in and around Yarrawonga and offer farm tours, taste testing and sales.
