Cobram - VIC RVFT

Cobram is situated on some of the most picturesque parts of the Murray River, 3.7 kilometres from Barooga, NSW and 37.6 kilometres from Yarrawonga, VIC. Towering gums, native bushland and a comfortable Mediterranean climate all make Cobram an appealing and unique holiday destination. The town has over 5,500 residents, with a further 1,000 or more living in the neighbouring town of Barooga. The area was settled in 1845 and growth was minimal until the 1880s when the railway was constructed, making the rural land more accessible. The land is now mainly used for dairy farms and fruit orchards and it is worthwhile visiting to sample some of the local produce.

Those visiting Cobram can find short-term parking at Dead River Beach, (turn N off Racecourse Rd). A dump point and potable water can be found at Cobram Showground.

Cobram is a wonderful place to visit, especially for those travelling in RVs. Discover the region on bikes, boats and canoes or simply take a stroll through the bush. You can try your luck fishing, or experience other attractions with expert guides leading you on a trail ride, canoe safari or river cruise. You can also relax on the wide sandy beaches of Thompsons Beach (claimed to be the largest inland beach on the Murray) or use it as a base from which to explore Quinn Island. Cobram has four championship golf courses and an abundance of quality health, recreation and community service facilities. Many of the businesses on the Farm Gate Trail are located in and around Cobram and Barooga and offer farm tours, mouth watering tastings and produce sales.
