Set on the western fall of the Blue Mountains, Oberon is a vibrant community with a rich history. Dominated by stunning natural landscapes, Oberon and the surrounding area is highlighted by a tapestry of rolling farmland, pine forests, steep cliffs and caves.
RV travellers love to visit Oberon, an historic town that offers ample services and facilities to accommodate its visitors. Parking is available for self-contained vehicles at The Reef Camping Area. Lengths of stays can be negotiated, and there is no charge to stay at this site. Facilities available include bins, water, barbecues and covered seating. Travellers are invited to bring along their furry friends if they are kept on leads. A dump point is accessible at the corner of Albion and North Streets, and potable water is available at the visitor information centre.
Lake Oberon, on the edge of town, is open all year round for freshwater fishing, kayaking and other non-powered boats. There is plenty to explore along the town’s main street, which boasts a variety of shopping outlets, 2 large supermarkets, 4 museums and a holiday park.
