Port Pirie is a large town located 223km north of Adelaide and is the service centre of the Southern Flinders Ranges, offering a diverse collection of services, facilities and experiences for the RV traveller. The town was settled in 1845 and is now the site of the world’s largest lead smelter.
Visitors to Port Pirie can find casual parking along Memorial Drive - please keep in mind spots are very limited and short-term parking is located at Service Lane, Warnertown Rd, Port Pirie. There is no fee to stay, however, vehicles must be self-contained and stays are limited to 24 hours. A dump point and potable water are available in town at Globe Oval.
The picturesque waterfront of the Spencer Gulf with the stunning backdrop of the Flinders Ranges makes Port Pirie a great place to visit, whether you are staying for just a few hours or a few days. There are also a range of cultural attractions, including museums, an art gallery, miniature and model railway and much more.
