Deepwater is a small village 40 kilometres north of Glen Innes on the New England Highway, in northern New South Wales. The area is a thriving agricultural centre for wool, lamb and beef farming, and honey production. Originally settled in the 1830s, there are many historical buildings still in use today. Longhorn Bar & Grill was built in 1865 and was once a Cobb & Co changeover point.
The historic pub offers RV travellers a free camping ground for up to 72 hours, with modern, hot showers and clean toilets. Potable water, barbecue facilities, covered seating and bins are also provided, and bookings are strongly recommended prior to arrival. The pub’s restaurant specialises in country-style cooking and pizzas, with unique craft beers on tap and a range of wines available.
While staying in Deepwater, visitors can go horse riding, fish for Murray Cod and Golden Perch, or try their luck fossicking for dazzling gemstones.
