Yandanooka is located in the mid-west region of Western Australia, 348km north of Perth. The name comes from an Aboriginal term meaning ‘plenty of hilly country in sight’. Thomas Whitfield was the first European settler to the region in the 1850s, and when the Midland Railway opened in 1895, a siding was built at the current town site. Later the siding was moved 4 kilometres south, and in 1919 the town was gazetted.

For those visiting the region, The Yandanooka Town Hall offers parking for self-contained vehicles for up to 72 hours, free of charge. Toilets are available, and pets on leads are permitted.

Yandanooka Town Hall is the perfect base to explore all the region has the offer, as it is ideally located 20 minutes from the town of Three Springs, where you will find a variety of services including doctor and dentist. The region is best visited during ‘Wildflower Season’ between August and September.
