Ravenshoe 147 kilometres south-west of Cairns, and forms part of the Atherton Tablelands region. At 920 metres above sea level, Ravenshoe is the highest town in Queensland. The town is the gateway to the east, where you will find the Atherton Tableland rainforests and the coastal Great Barrier Reef, while to the west is the dry, open forested Gulf Savannah.
Those visiting Ravenshoe can find short and long term parking at Ravenshoe Railway Caravan Park. An unpowered site is available for $20 per vehicle per night, and for those who require power, sites are available for $25 per vehicle per night. Potable water can be obtained at Railway Yards & Possum Park in Ascham Street, and a dump point is also situated on Ascham Street.
Ravenshoe is a wonderful place to visit with so much to see and do. Millstream Falls and Little Millstream Falls are popular attractions and both feature beautiful walks and sensational viewing platforms. Also worth a visit are Tully Falls and Koombooloomba Dam. The Tully Falls Road is a great rainforest drive, which allows you to become a part of this magical location. Other things to see and do include Misty Mountains Walking Trails, a wide variety of different walks through World Heritage Rainforests, the Windy Hill Wind Farm and a trip on the heritage steam train at Ravenshoe Railway.
