The small town of Fernvale lies on the Brisbane River, 30 kilometres north-west of Ipswich and an hour’s drive from Brisbane. One of the great attractions of the town is the Fernvale Markets, held every Sunday morning. People come from far and wide to grab a bargain from one of the interesting stalls. The town also provides fishing, swimming, boating and camping options along the Brisbane River and Wivenhoe Dam.
Visitors can find short-term parking at Geoff Fisher Bridge for up to 20 hours at no charge. Pets are also very welcome. Potable water is located at Fernvale Memorial Park, and a key is available upon request at Fernvale Futures Complex and the dump point is located in Clive Street.
Fernvale is the perfect spot to stop and get away from the busy city life, without losing any of the conveniences the city can provide.
