Town and Country Open Garden Day

Each year on the fourth Sunday of October the Narrandera District Garden Club organises a Town and Country Open Garden Charity Day to aid the work of Can Assist.  You can wander through delightful gardens, enjoy a Devonshire Tea and buy a plant or two at the stall at the Uniting Church Hall, relax over a light lunch in a garden and take advantage of the generous discount on presentation of garden map on the day, at the well stocked nursery on the edge of town.

Surrounded by rich agricultural land given over to broad acre farms for cereal cropping and grazing, historic Narrandera is centrally located on the Murrumbidgee River in the Riverina region of  New South Wales.  Sitting at the junction of two National Highways, the Sturt and the Newell, and with daily air and rail services it is well positioned for visitors who can be accommodated at a choice of quality motels, B & B’s, Caravan Parks and lakeside cabins.   Coffee Shops, clubs and country pubs, boutique shopping, Inland Fisheries Research Centre, Altina International Wildlife Park, Sandhills Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Water Tower Art Work, Glendale Citrus and Hazlenut Orchard, Lake Talbot Aquatic Playground, Wetland development, Koala Regeneration Park and walking tracks on the Nature Reserve along the Murrumbidgee and River Beaches make an interesting and diverse destination.
