Westonia is located in Western Australia’s wheat belt, 316 kilometres east of Perth and 306 kilometres west of Kalgoorlie. The town is renowned for its vast open skies, breathtaking granite outcrops, stunning natural woodlands and beautiful wildflowers. Westonia has a firm heritage focus, boasting historic buildings that have been lovingly restored. All new buildings constructed on the main street have also been constructed in a 1920s historic style, while the town’s streets are wrapped in impressive native gardens.
St Luke’s Church offers a parking area for up to 48 hours, free of charge. There are bins provided and pets on a lead are permitted. A dump point can be found nearby on the corner of Westonia-Carrabin Road and Boodarockin Road, and the Westonia Caravan Park provides free potable water.
For those who are interested in history, the Hood-Penn Museum is located on the main street. The museum features a range of different scenes showcasing early life in the Shire, as well as a vibrating interactive mine tunnel.
