The farming community of Quairading is located less than two hours from Perth and reflects a rural history of 140 years, with a variety of cultural, sporting and social activities on offer. Whilst in town, take some time to view the homes and beautiful gardens that the locals take great pride in. The Shenton Gallery displays paintings by local artists, Margaret and Noel Shenton, and the wood sculpture display in the old railway station exhibits work by the late Ian Wills.
Those visiting Quairading can find short-term parking for 1-2 nights directly across from the Caravan Park for $5.50 per night. It is a short distance walk to the local shops with toilet facilities location close by.
The Quairading District Heritage Trail, which incorporates the Dangin Town site, is a good place to begin experiencing the town’s history. Another feature is the rabbit proof fence, which crosses the Bruce Rock Road about 10 kilometres from Quairading. The tourist information centre is located within the shire offices in Heal Street, and a tourist stop is located 20 kilometres south of Quairading, on the Corrigin Road. Take in the many scenic drives around the area; marvel at the glow of the salmon gums at dawn and dusk, or take a trip to pink lake, which derives its distinct colour from salt deposits.
