Sheffield - TAS RVFT

Sheffield is located 30 kilometres from Devonport and 93 kilometres from Launceston, in the Kentish District of Tasmania. The town is nestled under Mount Roland and is famous for its colourful and fascinating murals. The history of the town is depicted on every blank wall, giving a remarkable insight into Sheffield’s past.  The Visitor Information Centre is in Pioneer Crescent where the friendly staff are happy to supply all the brochures and information required for an enjoyable stay. Purchase a mural book which provides both a map and detailed descriptions of each of the murals.

Those visiting Sheffield can find short term parking at Sheffield Recreation Reserve. Sites are $5 per vehicle per night and stays are limited to 96 hours; however, visitors will also have access to a dump point and potable water.

A small drive throughout the region of Sheffield will reward visitors with stunning views of Mount Roland and ample quirky named towns, each with a unique personality. For those looking for a bit of excitement, nearby you will find Tasmazia and the Village of Lower Crackpot, one of the world’s largest maze complexes, which consists of eight mazes, a model village, a pancake parlour, and a gift shop.
