Wundig Wer Wilura (Wundig and Wilura) is an ancient Ballardong Noongar story that centers on Wundig, a handsome young man cherished by the Hills people, and Wilura, a beautiful young woman adored by her family, the Grass people. Their love defies the bounds of lore and custom, leading to their souls being forever banished to Wongborel/Mount Brown and Walwalling/Mount Bakewell on Ballardong land in York, Western Australia.

Sung entirely in Noongar with English surtitles, Wundig Wer Wilura is brought to life by award-winning songwriters and storytellers Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse, who first sung the story in 2022 and worked with WA Opera to nurture it to this lush and gorgeous presentation.  Here it here.
