The Gunnedah Bird Sale and Expo have been running for over 20 years and has grown to be the biggest sale in Australia.

The 2019 expo showcased over 4,000 birds, and 175 exhibitors with 26 trade stands selling everything from seed, aviaries, nest boxes, books, medications and many other bird-related products.

A must for the bird enthusiast, the expo offers a hot breakfast and canteen facilities throughout the day at the Gunnedah Showgrounds Basketball Stadium and Griffiths Pavilion.

The Gunnedah Bird Sale and Expo is scheduled for Saturday, 11 April 2026, at the Gunnedah Showground's Basketball Stadium and adjacent Griffith Pavilion in Gunnedah, NSW. Organized by the Namoi Valley Aviculture Club (NVAC), this event is among the largest bird sales on Australia's east coast, attracting exhibitors and enthusiasts from across the country.

Trade Stands: The Griffith Pavilion will host various trade stands offering bird-related products, including seed mixes, aviaries, nest boxes, cages, books, and medications. 

Catering: A BBQ breakfast will be available from 7:00 AM, complemented by canteen facilities and a coffee van on-site.
