Hopetoun is a charming seaside village, 574 kilometres south-east of Perth. The town sits on the shores of Mary Ann Haven, which was once the port for the Phillips River Goldfield. The coastline of Hopetown boasts endless pristine beaches and scenic drives, especially the Southern Ocean Road to the east of Hopetoun, with its many lookouts and access points to beaches lined with limestone shelves.
Within town, Hopetoun SC 48 hour RA offers parking for 48 hours for self-contained vehicles free of charge. Bins are provided and pets on a lead are permitted. A dump point is located four kilometres north of town on the Hopetoun-Ravensthorpe Road, and potable water is accessible on near Hopetoun Jetty, the Esplanade. Hopetoun village also offers a range of gifts shops, local cuisine and cafes.
West of Hopetoun is the entrance to the Fitzgerald River National Park, one of the largest and botanically significant national parks in Australia. Spread across 330,000 hectares of spectacular wilderness, the park contains 15 percent of Western Australia’s plant species, 22 mammal species, 41 reptiles and more than 200 species of birds.
