Trayning is located in the North Eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, and lies 235 kilometres east of Perth on the Goomalling/Merredin Road. There are three townships within the Shire; Trayning, Kununoppin and Yelbeni, with Trayning primarily consisting of agricultural land, nature reserves and national parks.

The Tayning Caravan Park has all the facilities and amenities one would need for a short or long stopover, with potable water and a dump point located on-site as well. Unpowered sites are available for $7.50 per vehicle per night, and powered sites for $22 per vehicle per night. 

Trayning is a wonderul place to visit, especially for RV travellers as the town has wide open streets and plenty of available parking spaces for larger vehicles. There are several notable tourist sites such as Billycatting Hill, Whiteman’s Rock, Yarragin Rock, gnamma holes, historical wells, Yelbeni Museum and a beautiful wildflower season.  The region also has many heritage sites and museums that illustrate the evolution of the grain industry, the machinery used and the dedication of generations of farmers.
