Bruce Rock is situated in the Central Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 240 kilometres north-east of Perth. The town was originally known as Nunagin or Noonegin, and this led to confusion between other towns such as Narrogin and Nungarin. As a result, the name was changed to Bruce Rock after the large granite feature located close to the town. The town-site was gazetted in 1913.
Those visiting Bruce Rock can find short-term parking near the old tennis courts, situated at 59 Dunstal Street. There are no fees to stay here and parking is limited to 48 hours. A dump point and potable water can be found at Bruce Rock Caravan Park, Dunstall Street.
This quaint town is a perfect base to explore the Central Wheatbelt region. While in town take a stroll through the Sculpture Park and admire the gardens or take a drive around the region and you will come across Kokerbin Rock, the third largest monolith in Australia. The Aquatic Centre and Recreation Centre offer swimming and a variety of sports to keep you fit and active.
