Tumbarumba is located on the western side of the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales, approximately halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. It has a rich heritage in goldmining, timber, agriculture and viticulture and the town is the gateway to some of Australia’s most spectacular alpine landscapes. Tumbarumba is surrounded by idyllic mountain peaks; natural bushland; expansive vineyards; lush agricultural pastures; and crystal clear streams brimming with trout.
Short term parking in Tumbarumba is available in Winton Street, and visitors are welcome to stay for up to 24 hours. A dump point can be found adjacent the Visitor Information Centre in Tumbarumba, and potable water is available at Henry Angel Trackhead, (7km S of Tumbarumba).
This charming town is unspoilt and virtually untouched, off the major highways and lying in a pleasant position with the dramatic peaks of the Snowy Mountains to the east. There are bubbling streams, green fields and a peaceful, gentle ambience that’s a relaxing balm to city-jangled nerves.
