Port Augusta is perfectly positioned within a three hour drive from Adelaide; an arm’s reach of the majestic Flinders Ranges; located on the quiet waterways at the head of Spencer Gulf; and is the doorway to the South Australian outback.
Within Port Augusta is the Wadlata Outback Centre, providing visitors with an introduction to life in the Australian outback. The information centre recently had a million dollar upgrade and offers visitors an unbelievable journey through the evolution of the Flinders Ranges and the outback of South Australia.
The Motorhome Park on Power Station Road is the ideal base to stop and explore this scenic region. A dump point and other facilities are available at the Park, with potable water located just one kilometre from Port Augusta at the Coles Express Shell Meteor Service Station.
Modern shopping facilities are located within a friendly mall atmosphere and there are a number of historic places of interest that can be enjoyed while on a leisurely heritage walk through the town.
